The Mayans were a race of people stablished in southeastern Mexico thousands of years ago. Their original name Mayab means “The Last Ones” and it was later adopted by the surviving mayan communities to these days in Yucatan and Central America. The Mayab origins, knowledge and prophecies were surrounded by mythical traditions. The Mayab race was a civilised one, and now we have access to their discoveries in mathematics, astronomy and personal sciences. Far from the barbaric images presented by modern media.

The Toltecs preceded the Mayans, the Aztecs and other Central and North american cultures. Their name means 'the Civilised Ones”. They established themselves in Central Mexico founding cities like Tula and Teotihuacan, delivering messages of evolution, inner growth and human development. Some scholars have linked them to mythical Atlanteans. Most of the subsequent mesoamerican cultures claimed to be descendants of those Toltecs, acknowledging the importance of their culture and inheritance. It was the Toltecs who left groups of “Nahuallis*”, the ones who carried those ancient traditions and knowledge and revitalised them for us these days.

The Prophecies left by the Mayans and Toltecs set the end of the Long Count Calendar in a very specific date: December 21^st, 2012. A cycle of 5126 years comes to an end and with it, the previous forces, institutions and de-facto powers. The Prophecies call for unity and awakening to face the beginning of a New Age, the new cycle before us. It is the third opportunity for Humankind to achieve its full potential and break the boundaries of self imposed limitations.

The Shift in 2012 calls for readiness and caution. Though some have claimed a magnetic field displacement, disasters or catastrophical events, the truth is that the only conflict will arise because of Human decisions. Natural disasters will be made worse by human interaction with its surroundings; institutions of Power will refuse to let go, trying to protect their own dominant positions. In fact, it has already started. But the original message is one of Hope, not of Despair. Each individual soul has in it everything needed to create and build. The Shift is personal and exclusive to each Soul. The responsibility is personal and there are no more excuses. You are Master of your Own Destiny.

* In the Toltec tradition, a Nahuallotl or nahual is more than a shaman, a guide who works to develop individuals to their personal freedom and spiritual awareness.
